Event Branding
The 89,000-square-foot, six-story building project aimed to meet the growing spatial needs and enhance the facilities of a pediatric hospital located in Northern California. With a targeted completion timeline of roughly three years, the ongoing construction work posed challenges for visitors, staff, and the general public due to the disruptive nature of the building process.
-
Use the project as a way to tell the hospital’s brand promise of serving all patients with the best quality care so they could live their healthiest life.
-
Distract from the inconvenience created by the construction with colorful wayfinding and graphics.
Build anticipation for the grand opening.
The Design
I determined event theme, “An Amazing Journey”.
I created event logo and look and feel: Blue skies, white clouds, happy children and a friendly cursive font communicated daydreams and hope, two concepts that supported the hospital’s promise to provide a healthy road to a brighter future for the patients and their families.
I established branding guide for the event to keep design elements consistent across different platforms, brands, and mediums.
I finessed messaging that expressed the end goal and purpose.
I implemented graphics in every aspect of the construction project including the microsite, flyers, invitations, wayfinding, Powerpoint templates, and large graphics on makeshift walls.
At the Groundbreaking Ceremony, I created custom viewfinders as the gift for the donors. The carousel of images showed the history of the hospital and architectural renderings based on the hospital’s master plan.
For the Grand Opening Ceremony, I edited and produced a short video.
